The SPIL has its very own semi-scientific magazine: Debat. It is published five times a year and compiled entirely by members of the committee and its commissioner. Debat offers articles on politics and political science of a wide range of types and levels . Contributions include opinion pieces, background acticles and interviews written by first to fifth year students as well as international and PhD students. Fixed sections are the anonymous column, the Big Quiz of Small Facts and reports of any major SPIL activities.

Each edition has a central theme around which a number of the articles are written. Recent examples are ‘Woman in Politics’, ‘Truth and Lies’ and ‘For God and Country’. In addition, space is reserved for interesting articles about topics that do not fit in with the theme.
